Last of the Gentlemen Scientists #1

This is the first in a short series of comic strips that I sent to a couple of magazines before deciding the six-frame format was perhaps too unweildy and difficult for an editor to slip into an already existing layout. I guessed that the more normal three-frame format would be an easier sell. It's a shame, because the idea is quite sound, and would be easy to continue into a wide range of subject. And I admit I like this wordy kind of humour.

Losing my Italian

So it’s been a year since I left Italy and despite occasionally watching my Italian DVDs or reading Oceano Mare, I’m clearly losing my command over the Italian language. The other day I sent an email to my ex in Italian and in the reply she pointed out all my mistakes, including using a slang term for the male member which I thought was a verb.

Rats.

Gal in Pants #1

An old one. Gal in Pants once appeared in a student magazine in the Royal College of Art. But only because I happened to know the person editing it that year, and she needed something to fill up a bit of space. Still, being published by the RCA looks good on the cv.
